The Florida Marlins reach a deal with the city of Miami on a new stadium deal. This is a win-win-win. For the people of south Florida, mainly the construction industry, this is a surge, a half a billion dollars surge into the local economy. This will provide thousands of jobs that will last for at least 3 years, some will continue once the stadium is built. For the Marlins this is big, they have been in search of a new home for years. There is no other market that can support a team as well as Miami, make that no Available market. Of the big cities without a team, Miami is still the best one. The Marlins can also finally keep some of their talented players, add to the one man list of Jeff Conine when it comes to all time Marlin greats, and finally fulfill the longtime dream of a dynasty. Finally for the fans in Broward and Palm Beach, we no longer have to support this team. Baseball has become so enjoyable from our couch. The games are in High Definition, we can relax, save money, and handle numerous tasks while at home. We can even experience the game with friends who don’t have to worry about paying for tickets. And who says we aren’t supporting the team? The marlins produce solid TV ratings locally compared to other teams in the league. By watching the games we are strengthening the marlins TV revenues each year. If the marlins draw poor attendance it will be because the fans in Miami don’t support the team. Congrats Miami, you wanted it, you got it. I’ll see you on TV, good luck, and go Marlins.
